How aligners work
Aligners are thin, clear plastic trays made for you from a digital 3D scan. Each aligner moves the teeth in small, pre-planned steps, and you switch to the next set at regular intervals.
Wear time and commitment
For treatment to progress as planned, aligners need to be worn for about 22 hours a day. They are taken out only for eating and cleaning. Consistent wear is the single most important factor in staying on schedule.
Who aligners are suitable for
Many malocclusions in teenagers (Invisalign Teen) and adults can be treated with aligners. For some complex bite problems, a fixed appliance may be more suitable. We discuss openly which method makes sense in your case.
Support during treatment
Alongside check-ups in the practice, progress can be followed with digital monitoring. If an aligner is lost or breaks, please contact us and we will advise on the next step.
This information is for general guidance and does not replace a personal examination. Whether and which treatment suits you is discussed at your first consultation.
